Thank you for sharing this. It was just what I needed. I walk my dog and sometimes we’re both reluctant to go out, especially if it’s raining. I get home and it’s taken all my energy just to get around and block. I have put a sketchbook next to my sofa so I don’t even need to move x

Thank you for sharing. I completely understand those reluctant walks, it can be a lot some days. Love your idea of keeping a sketchbook by the sofa, I keep mine open on the desk. It helps to make it easy on ourselves <3

I have ordered the book! I was fascinated to read how you rediscovered a sense of joy in your work through exploring your ideas in a sketchbook. Sketchbooks are my safe place too and I always enjoy your posts here.

Really inspiring and exactly what I needed to read today, thank you so much !

As a graphic designer, my job is no more inspiring enough and doesn't give me the inspiration and creative mojo I need in my life. I feel the urge to create but doesn't have time and energy to do it properly outside of work. Shhh.

I will try your exercice "15 minutes everyday sketchbook's practice" and hope it will give me a creative boost :)

I completely understand the energy thing, I feel like one creative job takes up almost all of my creative energy for the day. So, I do my personal practice the first thing in the morning when I can, that way, my best energy goes there (I can't really tell that to clients) Hope the practice works for you! Thank you for sharing your experience, Fanny.

Hi Akiko 👋 I love to see your artwork and these colors feel so very peaceful and softly. Congratulations for the prints in this collection (book) 🥳✨️💕👏

I can imagine this feels like a deep gratitude to your own past decisions and it tells me something about my own story too!

I love the way you write about the confusion, this darkness and feeling of being lost. I've felt this too in 2020. I've had some layers of confusion.

For example, I was within a daily meditation practice and it needed a real change. It was like doing something really good, but it felt like draining my energy. Meanwhile I found out, that I need a teacher, that speaks very softly and is far away, I don't need pressure or "more discipline ". Now it's unfolding naturally, if no one pulls the grass 🐛 i need spaciousness 🤭☺️

I'm looking forward to your other writings.

Hi Julia, thank you for sharing and your thoughtful words. I think we all change, our interests change, so we need to move accordingly, but sometimes it's tricky to let go of what you've been familiar with. But I believe we, artists are the best at listening to our own hearts <3

thank you for sharing your experience. I read this post several times. A few days ago, I said goodbye to the idea that one day I would be an illustrator, an artist - working from home. But even though this is a difficult time for me, I find joy, peace and freedom in sketching.

And your words remi ds also about sketchbooks and how important they are in my art practice too.

Thank you Magda for reading and sharing. Letting go of something isn't easy, I love that you've found peace in sketching, I'm the same way. I find drawing so therapeutic, especially on difficult days. Let us keep treasuring the peace we find in making art <3

Sketchbooks have followed me and helped me develop as a person for as long as I can remember. As a kid my mom alwyas made sure I had something to occupy myself. I loved reading and seeing the importance of sketchbooks to you!

How wonderful that your mom nurtured your creativity early on. I only discovered sketchbooks in art school! I think it's such a gift for a child to have the creative outlet.
